Here is a question for you all. The last night in our wonderful cafeteria that we call Lottie, Veal Parmesean was one of the dinner selections. Some of my friends got it not knowing what it was and we spent most of or dinner trying to figure it out. After asking random people in Lottie what exactly it was that they were eating, the majority said it was a baby cow that is kept in a little box, not allowed to move, and fed til the day it is slaughtered. I really didn't want to hear that while i was eating, but oh well. Anyway my roomate is still convinced that it is a baby lamb. I dont' really know but I think its a cow. But if it is a baby cow, then what is a baby lamb? Think about it and post me your thoughts :)

Veal is calf meat--I don't know how it is raised--I have no idea what baby Lamb is called--Lambchops? as opposed to Mutton.--just a gues--because I think a baby sheep is what a lamb is.
We miss you Krissy
Love,
Mrs. Shelton

Hannah, deer meat is venison :)

I baby lamb is a ewe? Maybe I'm showing my uneducated side is saying that. :)

I was sure veal was baby deer, but maybe it is cow, defiantely baby lamb.

Every third leap year a little green striped lizard climbs to the top of a mountain and drinks of a stream, and eats the moss off of an alligator's back. Then he climbs into his little cave/home and dies. When he is 3 days dead, you harvest his meat, and that, my friends, is veal.

Okay--A ewe is a female sheep--a ram is a male sheep and a lamb is the young sheep--of this I am sure
I am nearly sure 99% that veal is calf meat--HOWEVER--I think it is amusing that this home schooling mother(me)--and these youn'uns that are sitting at their computer as they blog-- can't or won't do a simple search to find out for sure--hahahahaHA--

I love you, Krissy--Way to keep the old brain juices flowing!!

veal is 100% calf meat.
venison is 100% deer meat.
lamb is 100% lamb meat.

Can you eat Yak's in Nepal? What is their meat called?

Wow guys thanks for your input! hahaha And yea I think you are right Mrs Shelton, we came to the conclusion of a baby calf. (Hannah don't feel bad i thought it was a baby deer at first too...) And Linnea well... that was a good guess?? hahahaha

Yak meat is consumed in Nepal. Had a Yak steak once, pretty tastey.

The other meat, sort of like beaf, is buffalo! It's quite tough but the buff mince is good for tacos and such.

it is baby cows whose motion have been restricted to make the meat for tender. I looked it up in the dictionary. I had no clue until I looked it up.

KristenAnne said...

This is the most amusing blog yet.
KRISSYANNE-YOU KNOW GREG'S FAVORITE DISH AT FRATTELLIS IS VEAL FRANCAISE!!!
(What do we think the "fatted calf" of the Bible is? I think VEAL)!

All I know is: In 'While You Were Sleeping' Sandra Bullock says "Of course I said yes, Jerry, because every morning I wake up and go and sit inside a booth like a veal. . ."

And I always get a good kick out of it, and I'm not even sure what veal is.

So there's my case.

KristenAnne said...

Hahaha Oh Boy.....yes I suppose I never really thought of what Greg was actually eating when he ordered veal francaise! But Faith we will get in your shed eventually. you just wait :)HEY EVERYONE I WILL BE HOME THIS WEEKEND!!!!
